Kere{lake} is famous because of Gangamma.
Bunds were built to block water during KempeGowdas period
where a Astrologer suggested a sacrifice of a female who is pregnant,
Astrologer’s daughter-in-law heard this and drowned into the lake and gave the
sacrifice. Her name was Kempamma.
Santana Vanu Gopala is very powerful for people who don’t
have kids, A female prayed here and was blessed with kids, She then donated
Anjanaya to the temple.
Gangamma is shantha swaroope not ugra like other idols.
